"Two Kinds" Connections...

The 6 Connections are the following...

  • I know how to speak mandarin
  • I was pressured because of piano.
  • My mom was very strict of obeying her words.
  • I was in a Chinese culture most of my life.
  • My mom is very strict about what I do.
  • I use to have alot of conflicts about what my mom wants and what I want.
My personal perspective on Jing-Mei is ver much like alot asian kids. Most asian moms have the perspective of the "two kinds" of kids. The obeying one and the disobeying one. Ofcourse the obeying ones are accepted in the house. Growing up my mom would always be proud of me so much if I obey her. Well I think I am more obedient than my brothers so my mom goes around telling her friends that I am really obedient. Which makes an really big deal for them. I think it is just the culture that asians are in. Western parents are more strict of what Asian parents aren't strict in. Such as dating, going out in the night and sleeping over. The whole story tells us about the choice we can make in certain cultures. The attitude our moms have shouldn't be different by cultures. We could have different cultures but the kids are all kids. They should have rights of what they want to do and what they like to do.
