Mixture of What I Hate
By: Ji In Kim
I can't take it anymore.
You are a racist, sexist and you criticize people about their body shape.
You look down on me because you are jealous of my beautiful voice and you try to take advantage of me.
Just because I'm nice to you, it doesn't mean you can order me to make your bed, throw your trash away and lend you my clothes.
Whenever I try to borrow clothes from you, you never let me because it "stretches".
You drive me crazy when you whine about your body shape and I know you are just trying to let me see my self in the mirror.
You use verbal irony to hurt my feelings
Why do you have to live life so complicated like this?
----------------------Reflection--------------------
Writing this hate poem really relieved myself because sometimes living in a dorm could be very stressful. The poem above is not 100% true facts and to portray the hatred, I exaggerated some parts. The hatred that is portrayed in this poem is how I feel sometimes living life. Writing this poem definitely relieved my stress. Performing the poem to my classmates was really fun and exciting because not only I write my stress down, I get to really say it out loud. I also liked how we screamed our guts out before we read our poem. I think the meaning of writing hate poems is to balance the stress and happiness in your life.
